Tottenham boss: “Son Heung-min not fully recovered, difficult against Crystal Palace”

“Heung-min is still not 100 percent.”

Tottenham Hotspur's English Premier League (EPL) “captain” Son Heung-min, 32, has been ruled out of the club's ninth round match against Crystal Palace on Nov. 27 at 11 p.m. ET.

“Son Heung-min hasn't fully recovered yet, so I don't think he will be able to play against Crystal Palace,” Tottenham head coach Anzhi Postecoglou said at a pre-match press conference on Friday (local time).

Postecoglou continued, “Son Heung-min's condition is still not good. He's not 100% yet,” he said, adding, ”He missed today's training, so we can't use him for this week's game. We have to wait and see,” he added.

Son has been out of the Tottenham lineup since injuring his hamstring (the muscle behind the thigh) in the 2024-2025 UEFA Europa League (UEL) match against Garabag (Azerbaijan) on March 27.

The injury also caused him to miss the South Korean national team's two October A matches, 카지노사이트 but Son made his return to action on Sept. 19, starting against West Ham in the eighth round of the regular season, just four official matches after suffering the injury.

Son put on a one-man show against the Hammers, starting with a pass that set up the game-winning goal seven minutes into the second half after the Hammers had taken a 1-1 lead, setting up an own goal 10 minutes into the second half, and then scoring the winner in the 15th minute to account for three of Tottenham's four goals on the day.

However, Son felt unwell again after the West Ham game and missed the UEL match against AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands) on Sept. 25, causing fans to worry.

However, Postecoglou's announcement that Son will not be available for the ninth round of the regular season against Crystal Palace on Nov. 27 raised the specter of a prolonged injury.

Son's injury also puts pressure on Hong Myung-bok, who is preparing for the third Asian qualifier for the 2026 North and Central American World Cup.

Hong's side will face Kuwait at 11 p.m. KST on Nov. 14 at the Jaber Al Ahmed International Stadium in Ardiyah, Kuwait, for the fifth match of Group B of the third qualifying round before traveling to Amman, Jordan, to face Palestine at 11 p.m. KST on Nov. 19 at the Amman International Stadium.

For Hong Myung-bo, who will be looking to win both November A matches away from home to solidify the foundation for qualification, the prolonged injury to Son Heung-min, the centerpiece of the offense, will be a burden.

On Nov. 4, Hong Myung-bo will announce his squad for the two games in the Middle East.
